What did you study at university? I have a degree in International Business and an MA in Business Consulting and Marketing Development.

If you could learn any language, which would you pick and why? I would like to learn Mandarin because I think it’s an interesting language.

Do you have a bucket list? What is something you are hoping to check off the list soon? I have a “practical” bucket list and an “if I won the lottery” bucket list! I’d love to tick a new kitchen off my practical list! I’d also love to travel around Asia or Canada.

What are you most proud of (personally and/or professionally)? Keeping my Aloe Vera plant alive – I am not very good with keeping indoor plants alive – the fact I think it needs little water helps. More importantly, I am proud of where I am in my life. I have a great job where I get to meet and talk to amazing and interesting people all over the world and own a home with my amazing partner. I also recently ran my first half marathon for charity this year. I wasn’t a huge fan of running but I really enjoyed the training and the actual run so I’m proud that I ran the entire 13.1 miles without stopping and raised over £300 for the National Autistic Society! I also cut my hair short this year donating over 10 inches to the Little Princess Trust, which is a fantastic organization!

 What is your day-to-day work like at Welocalize? Busy! First, I check all our social channels and respond as necessary. Then, I check emails, line up blogs and crawl our sites. The main chunk of my days is working on the big projects I have going on. Each day is different, and I like that I’ll also get a few things come in from left field, which keeps me on my toes.

What are your best tips for keeping projects on task? Lists and Post-its – personally I like to have what I’ve got to do written down and then cross them off the list. This may cause my desk to look messy, but its organized in my own way.

What life sciences and regulatory industry publications or resources do you recommend? I would recommend FiercePharma, PharmaIQ, Modern Healthcare.com and Applied Clinical Trials.

Any trends you’re seeing in the social media outreach? What are some cool (or effective) tools you use? It’s interesting to see the rise in video—not just on Facebook but also LinkedIn—and with this the rise of augmented reality. The new iPhone8 and X have a new chip that provides users with augmented reality experiences, so I’m excited to see how social media platforms will adopt this. It could be in the way of filters, but also brands could project their products into the homes of social media users or even friends and celebrities! A big trend is the increasing of brand participation in messaging platforms such as AI, voice assistants and chatbots, all offering a more personalized shopping experience. In addition, I love using Moz and specifically Followerwonk, but there are a lot of great social tools out there.
