Name + Title: Adriana Martín, Marketing Support Specialist, Welocalize Life Sciences
Office location: Barcelona, Spain
Hire year: 2012
Where were you born? Barcelona
What did you study at university? I received a bachelor’s degree in business administration and I am currently working toward a master’s degree in marketing.
Languages spoken: Catalan, Spanish, English.
If you could learn any language, which would you pick and why? German. I studied it for two years and filled my flat full of notes to memorize words. I stopped studying German, in order to focus on a master’s degree in marketing, but I would like to resume learning it next year and continue with my investment in Post-its.
What are you most proud of (personally and/or professionally)? Professionally, I am proud of having contributed to the growth of the Welocalize. Seeing each year how it has grown gradually thanks to the efforts of all employees and noticing how, if we do things properly, coordinating ourselves and with all employees motivated, the company can get its objectives met and employees are more successful.
What life sciences publications or resources do you recommend? I believe attending trade shows and conferences are useful, because you can meet and arrange face-to-face meetings with colleagues from your same sector who share the same interest as you. Events allow you to get to know your colleagues and prospective clients better and to see how you can help on their customer journey. In addition, they keep you up-to-date with current and new market trends.
Do you have a bucket list? What is something you are hoping to check off the list soon? Yes, I have a mental one with a lot of things I would like to do. If I must say one, I would say parachuting. I have always wanted to feel the sensation of flying.
